BODY:
A New Jersey company has been hired to install a 500-foot-long temporary
bridge at the World Trade Center site. The two-lane bridge, which
is to cost about $2 million, will let trucks climb in and out of the
site's seven-story pit. Trucks now drive precariously on muddy roads
that are supported by packed debris. The bridge will be installed
over the next six to eight weeks to aid the final stages of the cleanup.
It will be built by Acrow Corporation of Carlstadt, N.J., and run
parallel to West Street. It will also be used to help with any rebuilding
at the site.
