Before the temporary bridge was assembled, construction crews and emergency personal were using muddy roads supported by packed debris to get into the seven-story pit. The last load of debris will probably be removed in late May or early June. However, Acrow's panel bridge will remain at Ground Zero for approximately two years to assist in the rebuilding process. Bill Killeen, president of Acrow Corporation, stated, "The Acrow team here in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Canada is honored and proud knowing that our bridge is assisting the recovery efforts at Ground Zero." Acrow Corporation is an international bridge and engineering and supply company servicing the transportation and construction industry for over 50 years with a full line of steel bridge products for vehicle and pedestrian applications. For more information on Acrow Corporation or the Acrow® 700XS® Panel Bridge System, please contact Bill Killeen. |
